Obituary

Agnes Runnberg, 86, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in Chris Jensen Nursing Home, Duluth. Agnes was a long time resident of the Moose Lake community until her relocation to Duluth, MN in 1998 where Agnes resided until her death. Born to a Polish immigrant family, Agnes grew up in the township of Split Rock. Agnes and her husband Gordon were married on June 21, 1946 in Cloquet, MN. After their marriage, they managed the Evergreen Resort in Isabella, MN, moving to the Denham area in 1948 when they owned and operated the Denham Community Bar until 1955. Agnes and Gordon then began a thriving music and entertainment gaming business venture in Moose Lake, known as "Gordy's Arrowhead Music", until their retirement in 1985. Agnes was an active member of the Family Worship Church. She enjoyed travelling, church activities, and visiting her sister Verna. She courageously endured the challenges of Alzheimer's Disease for over 11 years.

Agnes is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; her parents; son, Bruce; 17 brothers and sisters.

Agnes is survived by 2 daughters, Marcia (Steve Stone) Runnberg of Woodbury and Sheila (Fritz) Luther of Eagle River, WI; grandchildren, Jerehmy (Emily) Owen, Justin (Jessica) Luther, Arianna Nason and Kirstie Luther; sisters, Verna Martichuski, Sophie Anderson and Pauline Payzant; brother, Stanley (Sharon) Greski.

A Visitation will be held Friday, October 26, from 10 AM until the 11AM Service in Evangelical Covenant Church, Moose Lake. Interment will be in Mount Salem Cemetery, Mahtowa.
