Agnes M. Zabaske, 88, Willow River, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake. She was born on September 20, 1919 in Minneapolis to John and Sophie Misukanis. Agnes moved with her family to Milwaukee and later to Windemere Township where the family farmed. On September 23, 1935, Agnes married Peter Zabaske in St. Isidore's Catholic Church, Sturgeon Lake. Agnes was a homemaker through the years and also farmed with her husband until moving to Willow River in 1963. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women. Agnes also worked as a housekeeper for the rectory in Willow River for 27 years. She loved to garden, bird watch, and play scrabble. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Peter in 2000; brother: Edmund Kane; a sister: Theresa Jorgenson; and a daughter-in-law: Josie Zabaske.She will be lovingly remembered by her son: Chester Zabaske of Coon Rapids; a daughter: Sue (Lloyd) Herzog of Wyoming; a brother: Stanley Misukanis of Moose Lake; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, July 28, 2008 at 11 AM in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Willow River. Father Timothy Deutsch was the celebrant. Joy Novak provided the music. Casket Bearers were Douglas Zabaske, Richard Zabaske, Robert Zabaske, Darrin Zabaske, Steve Herzog, and Wyatt Lund. Burial was held in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Willow River.
