Obituary

Alan "Al" Lynn Peterson, 66, of Moose Lake, died Monday, April 16, 2012 in Essentia St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth. He was born October 23, 1945 in Watertown, SD to Alton and Irene (Struckman) Peterson. Alan was united in marriage to Roxe Lea Gusso on August 14, 1966 in Watertown, SD. Al was a Vocational Instructor at the Willow River Camp for 23 years. He also taught Industrial Arts at Moose Lake High School before becoming co-owner of Riverside Metals. Al then became a Diesel Mechanic Instructor at Riverland Community College in Albert Lea. Al then went on to start his own business, Al's Truck and Equipment. Al loved going to car shows, car auctions and swap meets. He also enjoyed hunting. Al always had the latest and newest gadgets. Al loved watching his kids and grandkids play sports and was their #1 fan.

Al is preceded in death by his father, Alton Peterson.

Al is survived by his loving wife, Roxe Peterson of Moose Lake; 1 son, Troy (Jan) Peterson of Coon Rapids; 2 daughters, Tonya (Jason) Benzie of Sturgeon Lake and Tiffany (Mark) McIntyre of Wilson, WI; mother, Irene (Jim) McTaggart of Moose Lake; 2 grandchildren, Josie and Jamie Benzie; 1 brother, Rory (Wynne) Peterson of Montrose, SD and his dog and companion, Brandy "Large Marge".

Visitation will be Thursday, April 19, from 6-8 PM in Hope Lutheran Church, Moose Lake and will continue Friday, April 20 from 10 AM until the 11 AM Service in Hope Lutheran Church, Moose Lake.
