Albena K. Walczak

Albena K. Walczak, 81, Barnum, formerly of Silver Twp. died peacefully on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Lighthouse of Assisted Living, Barnum. She was born on August 29, 1929 in Moose Lake to John and Sophie Urbaneak. Albena grew up on a farm in Silver Twp. She attended a country school and later Moose Lake High School where she graduated. Albena worked for a short time in Chicago. On October 14, 1950, Albena married Theodore Walczak in the Polish National/Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Silver Twp. They farmed in Silver Twp. through the years. Albena also worked as a cook at the Moose Lake Senior Center. She loved to help people and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and also spent time volunteering at the Senior Center in Moose Lake. Albena was very involved in the Polish National/Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Silver Twp. and its cemetery. She liked growing flowers, gardening, reading, and crocheting.

Albena is preceded in death by husband, Theodore on April 8, 1999.

She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons: Joseph (Connie) Walczak of Auberry, CA and Steve (Debbie) Walczak of Moose Lake; 10 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; a Brother: Edmund (Nancy) Urbaneak of Tennessee; a Sister-In-Law: Ann Kulas of Moose Lake; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Albena was cremated and a graveside service with inurnment will be held in the spring at the Polish National/Sacred Heart Cemetery, Silver Twp., Carlton County.
