Albert W. Larson
Albert W. Larson, 79, Denham, died suddenly on May 31, 2009 at his home. He was born to Runo and Julia Larson on February 5, 1930 in Birch Creek Township where he was a lifelong resident. Albert attended Maple Grove School and also helped his parents on the family farm. On June 3, 1950, Albert married Vivian R. Larson in Faith Lutheran Church. They dairy farmed and Albert also drove school bus and milk truck. In 1966, Albert began working for Rueben Johnson & Sons Construction until retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Local 49 Union of Operating Engineers for 35 years. Albert also operated the road blade (grader) for Birch Creek Township in the early 80's. Family and hard work filled Albert's life. He loved to help his family from babysitting to helping them build or fix something. Albert was also an excellent cook. He loved hunting, fishing, spearing, making maple syrup, and cutting wood. Even though he loved hard work, Albert still found time to go to his favorite escape at "Leo's Cabin". Above all, Albert loved spending time with his wife and family. He will be remembered for his hugs that he always gave to his family.
He was a member of the NRA, and served as a council member for a term at Faith Lutheran Church.
Albert is preceded in death by his parents.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Vivian; three children: Steve (JoAnn) Larson of Denham; Linda (Murray) Smith of Stratford, WI; and Neil (Pam) Larson of Denham; seven grandchildren: Wendy (Robert) Kenowski; Douglas (Heather) Larson; Krystal (Nathan) Patros; Mackenzie Smith; Brandi (Andrew) Gassert; Britney Larson; and Sabrina Larson; three great grandchildren: Madison & Malori Kenowski and Runo Larson; four brothers: Arnold (Loretta) Larson; Franklin (Marion) Larson; Norman (Helen) Larson; and Glenn (Barb) Larson all of Sturgeon Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Monday, June 1, 2009 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake and continue from Noon until the 1:00 PM service Tuesday, June 2, 2009 in Faith Lutheran Church, Sturgeon Lake.
Burial will be in Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Sturgeon Lake.
