Alexander "Alec" Paul Michalski, Sr., 69, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 at his home. He was born July 31, 1947 in Split Rock Township to Zigmund and Christine (Rutkowski) Michalski.  Alec was united in marriage to Christine Olson on March 1, 1996 in Watertown, SD.

Alec proudly served his country as a soldier and Staff Sargent in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Thereafter, he attended Wadena Technical College and received his certification as an electrical lineman. Alec worked at McLeod Cooperative Power in Glencoe and also served as a volunteer firefighter at Glencoe Fire Department. After early retirement, Alec moved to his beloved homestead near Moose Lake.

Alec enjoyed tinkering with his Caterpillars. He loved the outdoors and each season brought new activities which included gardening, fishing, hunting, and making maple syrup. He loved his family, and especially enjoyed his grandchildren's visits.

Alec will be remembered for his love and affection for his children and grandchildren, his frequent jokes, his enjoyment of the company of others and good conversation.

Alec is preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers; 4 sisters.

Alec is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Christine Michalski; children, Rachel (Brandon) Dugan of Littleton, CO, Joshua Michalski of Westminister, CO, Trevor Olson of Duluth and Alexander "A.J." Michalski Jr. of Duluth; grandchildren, Ros Michalski, Ean Dugan, and Luc Dugan.
