Alice Martha Brockman, 92, of Duluth, formerly of Barnum, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 in Essentia Health, Duluth. She was born March 18, 1921 in Nekoma, ND to Simon and Mary (Johnson) Bakken. Alice was united in marriage to Fred "Fritz" Brockman on June 9, 1941 in Carlton. Alice was a cook at Barnum High School for 23 years.

Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Fritz; her parents; grandson, Jeremy; 4 sisters; 3 brothers.

Alice is survived by 5 children, Larry (MaryAnn Schaub) Brockman of Duluth, Mary Alice (Rick) Hershey of Duluth, Sally Ann (Glenn) Saari of Duluth, Edward J. (Sue) Brockman of Hermantown, Richard (Mary Higbee) Brockman of Duluth; grandchildren, Carrie, Joe, Tom, Kim, Kristine, Lynn, Brian, Jesse, Aaron and Monica; 11 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 21, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Service in Barnum Community United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Barnum.
