Alice Ruth Harrington

Alice Ruth Harrington, 90, Barnum, died peacefully on Friday, September 17, 2010 in Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. She was born in Moose Lake on October 20, 1919 to Dean and Tena Goewey. Alice attended Barnum High School graduating in 1937. She worked for Dr. Monson in Barnum for several years. On June 8, 1963, Alice married Donald Harrington in Barnum. Alice also worked over 30 years for the Credit Union in Moose Lake, retiring in 1987. She loved to bowl and was a member of several leagues through the years. After retiring, Alice traveled with her husband for over 20 years mainly in the Southwest United States and wintering in Arizona. She loved to play cards with her friends and belonged to various card clubs. Alice was also an avid reader and enjoyed sewing.

Alice is preceded in death by a son: David Hurst; two grandsons: David Runstrom and Clinton Rautio; two brothers: Harold Goewey and Earl Goewey; and two sisters: Marion Gooler and Violet Enzminger.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 46 years: Don; four children: Dennis (Faye) Hurst of Barnum; Sandy (Howard) Wilkes of Kettle River; Jackie (Gary) Rautio of Moose Lake; and Wendy Runstrom of Hopkins; a sister: Pearl Delarosby of Barnum; a brother: Arthur Goewey of Moose Lake;
9 Grandchildren: 14 Great Grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation was from Noon until the 1 PM service on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in Barnum United Methodist Church. Pastor Gary Liker did officiate. Judy Finifrock provided the music. Casket Bearers were David Hurst, Corey Hurst, Monty Wilkes, Ray Wilkes, Buzz Delarosby, and Bob Goewey. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Barnum.
