Alice E. Spaulding
Alice E. Spaulding, 85, Willow River, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 in Moose Lake. She was born on December 21, 1924 in Hill City, MN to John and Carrie Pilgrim. Alice lived in the Hill City area until 1934 when she moved to Minneapolis where she attended high school. After high school, she moved to Duluth. Alice later lived in Iowa and also California where she met her husband, Chester. On March 12, 1947, Alice married Chester Spaulding in Yuma, AZ. They lived in California and later Portland, Oregon until 1951 when they moved to Minnesota and lived in Bloomington and Crystal. Alice worked as a bookkeeper for Cargill from 1951 until retiring in 1985. In 1987, Alice and Chester moved to Willow River. She attended the Evangelical Covenant Church in Moose Lake. Alice lived to garden and also loved her pets.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester in 1996; a brother: Raymond Evans; and a sister: Ruth Glarner.
Alice will be lovingly remembered by her sisters: Martha Parenteau of Duluth; Mary Plank of Helena, MT; Sharon Demarais of Minneapolis; Marlys McNevin of Aitkin; and Pat Zimple of Rathdrum, ID; a brother: John "Jack" Evans of Mound, MN; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special friend: Jane Camarillo of Willow River.
A Gathering of Family and Friends was held from Noon until the 1:00 PM Memorial Service on Saturday, February 27, 2010 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake. Spring Inurnment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Willow River.
