Alroy William "Popeye" Hammitt, 70, of Bruno, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake. He was born April 22, 1944 in Moose Lake to Lyle and Elaine (Feller) Hammitt. Popeye enjoyed hunting, riding horse and loved fishing (especially ice fishing). Popeye also enjoyed lawn mower pulls and won a few blue ribbons.

Popeye is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Coral Sampson.

Popeye is survived by his loving wife, Patsy Hammitt; children, Adam (Michele) Hammitt, Debbie (Joe) Jensen, Gwen (Kevin) Ophus and Billy Hammitt; 2 grandchildren, Kaja and Skylar; great grandchild, Isla; brothers, Jerry (Patty), Jim (Jeanie) and Tom (Dawn); sister, Joy (Kevin) Kubat; special mother-in-law, Teresa Funk.

To honor Popeye's wishes, no services will be held.
