Andrew Jonathan
Larson
October 6, 1985 – July 3, 2025
Andrew Jonathan Larson, 39, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, after a heroic battle with cancer. Andrew was born in St. Paul, MN, on October 6, 1985, to Naomi (Johnson) Larson and Jonathan Larson.
He attended Duluth East High School, Bethel University, and then graduated from Minnesota State University Morehead in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in biology. He worked for the Minnesota DNR as a Fishing Census Clerk in Spring, Summer, and Fall, and did substitute teaching for the Duluth School District in the Winter.
Andrew had many passions and talents. He started playing the violin as a child and was an extremely talented musician. He took pleasure in cooking, grilling, and making jelly from berries he picked himself. He proudly did his own car and boat repairs and taught himself to fix or build just about anything he put his mind to.
From a young age Andrew had a great appreciation for the outdoors, and enjoyed boating, hiking, skiing, and especially fishing. He always knew when and where to go to catch the most fish and loved taking friends and family out in the boat or on the ice with him. He also enjoyed fishing or hiking alone and just appreciating the peace and solitude of nature.
Andrew met the love of his life, Beth, in July of 2022 and they married a year later on July 16, 2023. They honeymooned in British Columbia, Canada, then started their lives together with their little terrier mix Jovie. Their beautiful beginning was tragically cut short when Andrew was diagnosed with cancer only a few months after their wedding. Though their time together was far too brief and many plans and dreams went unfulfilled, the love they shared was deep and will forever live in the hearts of those who witnessed it.
Those who knew Andrew will remember him for his gentle nature, silly sense of humor, loving kindness, and unwavering faith. He had a positive impact on so many lives, and his passing has left a void in the hearts of all those who knew him. Andrew's faith was very important to him throughout his life, and he always had hope in Jesus. All through his suffering he continued to say that he knew where he was going, and he is now at peace in the arms of his Savior.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Reverend Benjamin Larson and Russell Johnson.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of almost 2 years: Elizabeth (Graham) Larson; mother: Naomi (Johnson) Larson; father: Jonathan (Suzanne) Larson; siblings: Jennie (Josh) Dahl and James (Brittany) Larson; nieces: Layne, Avery, and Elsie; nephews: Evan and Zachariah; and his grandmothers: Barb Johnson and Joan Larson. He will also be lovingly remembered by his in-laws: Coralee (Dean) Danielson, David (Svetlana) Graham, Allison (Kevin) Tellinghuisen, John Francisco, Tara (Nolan) Garrison; nieces: Brin and Willow; and nephew: Connor. He will forever live in the hearts of so many family members and friends.
A visitation will be held at 10am on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Lakeview Covenant Church in Duluth, followed by the funeral at 11am. A luncheon will be held after the service.
Arrangements are with Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.
