On Tuesday, April 28th, 2020, Anna "Ann" Theresa (Riedlberger) Chmielewski, loving wife and mother of 5 children, 21 grandchildren, and 36 great grandchildren, passed away at the age of 93 in Augustana Care Center, Moose Lake.

Ann was born to Frank and Elizabeth Riedlberger in St. Paul, Minnesota on November 11, 1926. She grew up with 2 brothers and 5 sisters in the Rice Street area of St. Paul. She loved going to movies with her mom and going dancing with her sisters. Ann met her husband Chester Chmielewski at the Prom Ballroom in St. Paul. They were married at St. Bernard's Catholic Church on January 22, 1949.

Ann was a kind and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a wonderful cook who passed down recipes to her family. Ann was a voracious reader and loved animals.
She and Chester enjoyed going out to eat.  In the last few years, she has enjoyed visiting with her friends and caregivers at Augustana Kenwood Place.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband Chester and her 7 siblings. She will be missed by her children: Barbara (Tom) Walker of Lakeville; Donna (Gerard) Sobiech of Wyoming, Minnesota; Lois (Terry) Johnson of Sturgeon Lake; Alan (Heidi) Chmielewski of Victoria; Linda (Kevin) Johnson of Circle Pines; 21 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday May 1, 2020  at 11:00 A.M. in St. Isidore's Catholic Church, Sturgeon Lake.  Interment will be in St. Isidore's Catholic Cemetery, Sturgeon Lake. A public memorial mass celebrating Ann's life will be held at a later date.
