Anne Elizabeth Swanson, 77, of Moose Lake, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2010 at her winter home in Mission, TX after a courageous battle with diabetes. Anne was born to Howard and Frieda (Gorr) Sampair on July 24, 1932 in Star Prairie Township, WI. The family moved to Oakdale where Anne graduated from Stillwater High School in 1950. She then attended Bethesda Nursing Program and graduated as an RN in 1953. Anne then went to work at Moose Lake State Hospital where she practiced as an RN for 36 years. During this time she met Arthur Swanson, her loving husband of 55 years. They were united in marriage on May 1, 1954 in Maplewood. Anne loved life and was an avid sports fan. She also had many hobbies to include sewing, needlework, bowling, camping, but most of all, Anne loved spending time at her lake home surrounded by family and friends.
Anne is preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother; 2 sisters.
Anne is survived by her loving husband, Art; 1 brother, Gerald Sampair; many nieces and nephews.
Anne will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 17, from 3:30 PM until the 4:30 P.M. service in Hope Lutheran Church, Moose Lake with Pastor James Swanson officiating.
