Archie L. Johnson, 68, of Sturgeon Lake, died unexpectedly at home from a heart attack on Monday, July 28, 2008. He was born to John and Olga Johnson on July 31, 1939 at the family farm in Windemere Township. Archie attended the 11C School in Windemere Township. On December 19, 1959, Archie married Delores Gray in Braham. They continued farming on the family farm in Windemere Township which became known as Lake Haven Dairy and he proudly showed his passion for John Deere. He also operated a sawmill and later began raising beef cattle. Archie also worked for Windemere Township as a Road Supervisor and was on the ASCS Board for over 17 years. In 2001, Archie began to operate Lake Haven Custom Meat Processing. He loved to socialize with everybody and always took the time to visit. Archie was a very hard working person whom could fix anything. Someone asked Archie once, "Where did you learn all this knowledge?' and continued with "You can do anything!" Archie replied that he had his P.H.D. which was his post hole digger. He truly loved life and loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Archie will be missed by so many. Archie was preceded in death by his parents: John and Olga Johnson; sister and brother-in-law: Isabelle and Lee Theiling; brother: Jack Johnson; brother and sister-in-law: Richard and LaVonne Johnson; brother: Fred Johnson; sister: Lillian Fjosne; a brother-in-law: Harlow Moen; 3 nephews: Jay & Lisa Johnson; Kerry Moen, and Bobby Prust.He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Delores; 2 daughters: Wendy (Randy) Hjelmberg of Sturgeon Lake and Sylvia (David) Ketchum of Sturgeon Lake; 5 grandchildren: Nicole (Chris) Theisen; Alan (Hannah) Hjelmberg; Vanessa Ketchum; Erica (DJ) Sandberg; and Lynn Ketchum; 2 great grandchildren: Austin and Brenna Theisen; one brother: William (Marilyn) Johnson of Monticello; 4 sisters: Pearl Prust of El Cajon, CA; Ida Moen of Carlton; Alice Newman and friend Ray Okronglis of Sturgeon Lake; and Linda (Tom) Clarke of Duluth; brother-in-law: Willard Fjosne of Willow River; 2 sister-in-laws: Hazel Johnson of Sturgeon Lake and Jessie Johnson of Carlton; special friends: Gil and Gayle Moonen of Sturgeon Lake; numerous nieces and nephews, his Best Bud: Al Hjelmberg; and his little dog, Puddles.Funeral Services were held on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 11:00 AM in Hope Lutheran Church, Moose Lake. Pastor Jan Mehlhoff officiated. Marty Moen provided the music. Casket Bearers were: Randy Hjelmberg, David Ketchum, Nicole & Chris Theisen, Alan & Hannah Hjelmberg, Vanessa Ketchum; Erica & DJ Sandberg, and Lynn Ketchum. Honorary Bearers were Archie's Nieces and Nephews. Cremation followed the services. Arrangements are with Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.
