Archie Loyd Robinson
Archie Loyd Robinson, 71, Kerrick, died peacefully on Sunday, May 30, 2010 in Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. He was born on September 1, 1938 in Sturgeon Lake to Walter and Julia Robinson. Archie lived in the Kerrick area and attended Askov High School. He later moved to Duluth with his family. Archie worked in Duluth at a bow and arrow factory until moving to Minneapolis where he worked as a truck driver. In 1967, Archie moved to Duluth where he worked at National Iron as a Pipe Fitter for the Local Union. Archie moved to Holyoke in 1968 where he owned and operated Club 23 for 16 years. On October 26, 1970, Archie married Carol Meyer. After selling Club 23 in 1984, they moved to Arizona where Archie lived until 1991 when they moved back to Kerrick and purchased the River Inn in Duquette which they owned and operated until 1994. Archie loved fishing, hunting, playing guitar, and riding motorcycle.
He is preceded in death by a daughter: Debbie Robinson; brother: Kenneth Robinson; granddaughter: Rachel Robinson; and a daughter-in-law: Susan Sagvold.
Archie will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Carol; six children: Randy (Donna) Robinson of Tuscson, AZ; Sharie Robinson of Kerrick; Jessie (Kathy) Robinson of Bruno; Mark (Renee) Sagvold of Kerrick; Sharon (Duane) Dahl of Wrenshall; and Warren Sagvold of Sandstone; six siblings: Ronald (Cheryl) Robinson of Duluth and Leonard (Sharon) Robinson of Proctor; Julie Envall of Proctor; Joyce Galli of Las Vegas; Bob Robinson of Duluth; and Walter Robinson of Tennesse; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A Memorial Service was held on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 1:00 PM in Oak Lake Lutheran Church, Kerrick with Pastor Nathan Anderson officiating.
