Arvid Lloyd Simonson

Arvid Lloyd Simonson, 58, Arthyde, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on December 27, 1949 in Mora, MN, the son of Lloyd and Carol Simonson. Arvid graduated from Willow River High School in 1967 and later attended UMD. In 1979, Arvid began working for the Moose Lake Regional Treatment Center and later transferred to the MSOP in Moose Lake where he continued to work until semi-retiring in 2004.


Arvid was a loving Father and Grandfather. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father: Lloyd Simonson and a brother: Gary Simonson.

Arvid will be lovingly remembered by his children: Luke (Melanie); Katie, Neil, and Olivia; his mother: Carol; brother: Bruce (Sue); and sisters: Lois (Dave) and Bernadine (Dale); Grandchildren: Kaden, Lauryn, Gracie, and Kristi; and his nieces and nephews: Rhett, Larron, Derek, Jason, Dara, and Shayna.

Visitation was held from 6-8 PM Sunday, November 2, 2008 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake and continued from Noon until the 1:00 PM service on Monday, November 3, 2008 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake. Pastor Bonnie Del Greco was the officiate. Casket Bearers were Dave Isaacson, Jason Isaacson, Dan Simonson, Dale Reed, Rhett Reed, and Matt Horwath. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery, Willow River.
