Barbara “Barb” L. Ellingson, 83, Moose Lake, formerly of Maple Grove, died peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2026 in Oakview Assisted Living. She was born in Waterloo, IA on July 24, 1942 to Walter and Dorothy Kelly. Barb grew up in Austin where she graduated from high school. On June 23, 1959, Barb married Marvin Ellingson. They lived in Fridley until 1969 when they moved to Maple Grove. Barb was a homemaker while raising her children and later worked outside the home at an insurance company, Dayton’s, and lastly Honeywell where she worked in Food Service. She was a PTA President at Osseo School District #279 and was also involved in Scouts. In 2018, Barb moved to Moose Lake and lived in Hillside Manor East. She will be fondly remembered for her sewing and seamstress abilities, love of the MN Twins, and mailing $2 bills into every birthday card for family members. Her greatest love was following her grandchildren in their activities which she loyally attended for over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin in 2017; parents: Walter and Dorothy Kelly; and her sister and brother-in-law: Mary Kay and Ron Earl.

Barb will be lovingly remembered by her four children: Carl (Jayne) Ellingson; Stephen (Justine) Ellingson; Donald (Theresa) Ellingson; and James (Julie) Ellingson; six grandchildren: Amanda Ellingson, Isaiah Ellingson, Eric Ellingson, Nathan Ellingson, Douglas Ellingson, and Connor Ellingson; brother: James “Ed” (Barb) Kelly; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration for the Life of Barbara L. Ellingson will be at Phenow Pavillion at Central Park, 12000 Central Park Way, Maple Grove, MN 55369 on Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 10 am until 2 pm with Service of Remembrance at 11 am and food and fellowship to follow the service.
