Barbara Lou Granquist, 87, Kerrick, passed away in her home on Friday, August 13 ^th , 2021. She was born on her grandfather's farm in Askov on July 22 ^nd , 1934 to James and Irene (Jensen) Murphy.

Barbara, or "Barbie" as she liked to go by, attended school in Askov before moving to Duluth for work. She spent 20 years married to Richard Granquist. Through the years, she loved being a homemaker, raising her boys, taking care of flowers, and being a mom. Although she was shy, Barbara was a self-taught musician: singing, playing piano, guitar, and accordion. She loved the waltz and polka dance, teaching both to her sons at young ages. Once the kids got older, Barbie enjoyed the seasonal work she did gardening and tree tending for General Andrews State Forest, where she retired from.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Irene; sister, Gloria Ketchum; and brother, Jimmy Murphy.

She'll always be remembered by her sons, Walter (Peggy) Granquist, Dale Granquist, and Danny Granquist; grandchildren, Meghan, Kelli, Shannon, and Britni Granquist; great-grandchildren, Cienna and Landon; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A private family graveside inurnment will be held in Bruno Cemetery.
