Barbara Jean (Johnson) Nelson, 78, of Moose Lake, passed away on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 26, 2015 in Lighthouse of Barnum. She was born April 2, 1937 in Palo Alto, CA to Fred "Fritz" and Helen (Goodman) Johnson. Barbara graduated from Moose Lake High School in 1955. She worked at Barb's Beauty Nook as well as Mercy Hospital. Barb lived in Alaska from 1989 until she moved back to Moose Lake in 2004. Barb entered Lighthouse of Barnum in 2009. She enjoyed playing cribbage, listening to country music, playing games, dancing, going to the casino, puzzle books and especially spending time with her family.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, Winifred "Wink" Anderson, Valerie Oestreich Glee Janiksela.
Barbara is survived by 1 son, James Nelson of Bradenton, FL; 4 daughters, Debbie Halls of Moose Lake, Karen (Scott) Dahlen of Moose Lake, Vicki Cisar of Moose Lake and Pam (Ron) Mumm of St. Cloud; 10 grandchildren, Krissy Jeffers, Jodi (Bryant) Stahlbush, Justin Wright, Jayson Wright, Kody Halls, Kaylah Chitouras, Jake Cisar, Mason Cisar, Jeffrey Cisar and Sarah (Adam) Rudebeck; 7 great grandchildren, Calvin Jeffers, Martin Jeffers, Alivia Stahlbush, Jaylin Stahlbush, Mya Stahlbush, Blaine Rudebeck, and Trey Rudebeck; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, December 3, from 5-7 PM in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake and will continue Friday, December 4, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Memorial Service in Barnum Community United Methodist Church, Barnum. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Barnum.
