Barbara Jean Rahkola, 68, resident of Cromwell, died unexpectedly in her home on September 16 ^th , 2021. She was born in Cloquet, MN to James Buehre and Arlene Lukanen on June 20 ^th , 1953.

Barb grew up in Babbitt and attended school there. She spent her life devoted to food and meal preparation for numerous facilities including Interfaith Care Center in Carlton and Minnesota Department of Corrections in Moose Lake. Barb was proud of the volunteer hours she spent working with Ruby's Pantry through the years. Her hobbies including visiting with family and friends on the phone, socializing in any form, canning foods from her garden, and owning and operating her own greenhouse, Green Acres. Barb will be remembered for her stubborn yet loving ways, and for all of the memorable conversations she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Buehre and Arlene (Larry) Morris; brother, James Lanhart; sister, Sandra Russo; partner, Richard Huhta.

Barb is survived by her sons, Dan (Emily) Rahkola and Kennedy (Jessica) Rahkola; grandchildren, Kendra, Kloey, Keegan, Emma, and Casper Rahkola; sister, Diane (Frank) Takavitz, and Elizabeth (Buddy) Vars; her special nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Barb's Life will be held at 3pm on Friday, October 1 ^st , 2021 at the Cromwell Pavilion. Inurnment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery, Cromwell.
