Obituary

Barla Josephine Rudebeck, 93, of Barnum, died Wednesday, February 10, 2010 in Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. She was born March 13, 1916 in Kettle River Township to Anthony and Rose (Zappel) DeRungs. Barla attended Willow River High School, graduating in 1935. Barla was united in marriage to Melvin Rudebeck on July 14, 1947 in South Dakota. She was employed at Dick's Café in Moose Lake as well as Diamond Match in Cloquet. Barla was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Barnum and American Legion Auxiliary #415.

Barla is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; her parents; 1 sister, Mary Bennett; 5 brothers, John, Clarence, Laurence, Tony and Leo DeRungs.

Barla is survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Deloris DeRungs of Willow River and Agnes DeRungs of Sandstone; 1 brother-in-law, Maurice Bennett of Willow River; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was on Monday, February 15, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake with Father Eamonn Boland as the celebrant.
