Becky Lou Wekseth, age 48, resident of Moose Lake, died peacefully in her apartment on July 27 ^th , 2019.  She was born on July 16 ^th , 1971 in Cloquet to Russell and Cathryn "Cass" (Olsen) Wekseth. She was a woman full of hope and dreams.  She was a sister, an aunt, a cousin, a daughter, and a loving, loving friend.

Becky attended Barnum Elementary until the 6 ^th grade, then moved to Littleton, Colorado for 2 years before returning home to graduate from Barnum High School in 1989.  She was Miss Barnum AND Homecoming Queen. Becky loved going for walks, listening to music, and fishing, but not cleaning the fish! She enjoyed the company of many friends who she captured with an infectious smile and a no-non-sense "wit and grit".  Becky had multiple placements of employment including the 3 ^rd Base Bar and Culligan in Cloquet, before moving to and being employed in Colorado in 1995 for three years.  She returned to Minnesota where she worked her last 10 years with her Union brothers and sisters at the Minnesota DHS Facility at Moose Lake.  Becky was an avid soccer player during her time in Colorado where she also enjoyed the majesty of the Rocky Mountains.  She was a professional lasagna maker and also loved making desserts in the kitchen that were as sweet as her budding personality.  Becky loved her Minnesota Vikings and gardening.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her mother, Cathryn "Cass" Wekseth; grandmother, Laura Wekseth (Petersen); brother, Rusty (Camie) Wekseth; two sisters, Carmen (Randy) Jokimaki and Colleen (Jim) Myhre; special friend, Jeff Wockenfus; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Becky is preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold and Helen (Reimers) Olsen and grandfather, Russell Wekseth Sr..  Most lovingly, she was also preceded in death by her wonderful father, Russell Wekseth Jr. in February of 2002.

A visitation to honor Becky's beautiful life will be held on Friday, August 2 ^nd , 2019 from 4-7pm at the Evangelical Covenant Church of Moose Lake. Visitation will continue from 10am until the 11am memorial service on Saturday, August 3 ^rd , 2019, also at the Evangelical Covenant Church. Inurnment will follow in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake.
