Bernard M. "Bernie" Tasky, 80, of Moose Lake, formerly of Duluth, died Monday, December 29, 2008, in St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth. He was born May 20, 1928 in Duluth to William and Catherine (Breda) Tasky. Bernie was united in marriage to Patricia Flynn on November 17, 1948 in Cloquet. Bernie was formerly employed with Duluth Winnipeg Pacific Railroad. He was a member of the Railroad Retirement Association as well as the Loyal Order of the Moose of both Proctor and Moose Lake. Bernie enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time at his home on Sand Lake.
Bernie is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Janice; 2 brothers, William and Clem; 1 sister, Monica Johnson.
Bernie is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Pat Tasky of Moose Lake; 2 sons, John (Sheryl) Tasky of Brooklyn Park and Bruce Tasky of Eagle River, AK; 1 daughter, Katherine (Roger) Clemons; 5 grandchildren, Jacob (Dawn) Clemons, Janel Clemons, Amy Tasky, Kelly Tasky and Katie Tasky; 1 great granddaughter, Lillian Clemons; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 2, 2009 from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake with Father Eamonn Boland as the celebrant. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Cloquet. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
