Bert Elias Wold, Jr.

Bert Elias Wold, Jr., 78, McGregor, died peacefully at home on Monday, March 19, 2018.  He was born to Bert, Sr. and Ann Wold on February 5, 1940 in St. Paul.  Bert grew up in Lilydale, MN until his logging career and adventurous spirit brought his family to Alaska where many great memories were made during the 10 year stay in the Matanuska Valley area.  Bert retired and lived in the McGregor area and continued being an avid fisherman, hunter, and trapper.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  Bert was a lifelong collector of agates, enjoyed diamond willow woodworking and playing cribbage.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Kathleen; his father, Bert Elias Wold, Sr.; his mother, Anne Wold; sister: Elizabeth Olenchak; and son-in-law: Dan Helm.

Bert will be lovingly remembered by his 6 children: Michael (Mary) Paverud, Amber (Kris) Livingston, Holly (Tom) Wold, Cynda (Brian) Keatts, Bert Elias Wold III, and Amanda Helm; 7 sisters; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the McGregor VFW.
