Bethel "Beth" Mary Walters, 92, of Willow River, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017 in Augustana Mercy Health Care, Moose Lake.  She was born December 16, 1924 in St. Paul to John and Elsie (Witte) Stegmeir.  Beth was united in marriage to Ed Walters on June 18, 1949 in St. Paul.  Beth taught at Willow River High School, Nicollet High School, Finlayson High School and Barnum High School.  She was secretary for the Sonshine Closet in Moose Lake for 8 years until retiring in 2016.  She started Peppy Seniors and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and Presbyterian Ladies Aid in Willow River.  Beth was a Field Editor for Taste of Home Magazine.  She attended Evangelical Covenant Church, Moose Lake.  Beth enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, knitting, quilting and spending time with her family.

Beth is preceded in death by her husband, Ed; her parents; sister, Louise Stanton Barton; 2 brothers, John and Paul Stegmeir.

Beth is survived by 3 children, Chuck Walters of Las Vegas, Dick (Debra Vinney) Walters of South Barington, IL and Dotty (Bill) Trueblood of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Chase, Dustin, Scott, Leah, Bethany, Nate and Ryan.

A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, April 6, from 9 AM until the 10 AM Service in Evangelical Covenant Church, Moose Lake.  Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Willow River.
