CROMWELL

Bette LeeAnna Deming

Bette LeeAnna Deming, 75, of Cromwell, received her forever wings on September 30, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Bette was born and raised on the family farm in Hinckley to Herbert and Annetta (Maxwell) Zaudtke. She was a proud graduate of Hinckley High School and was one of nine children.

Bette dedicated more than 31 years to her career as a hairstylist, including owning and operating her own salon for over 10 years. She took pride in her work and enjoyed the many friendships she formed throughout the years.

Bette had a love for the simple joys in life. She enjoyed tending to her flowers, going for walks, quilting, and spending time outdoors. She especially cherished time with her family and friends, her husband, and her beloved dog, Bonnie, and her children and grandchildren meant everything to her, and she treasured every opportunity to be together and make memories. Some of her happiest times were spent at the family lake home on Eagle Lake in Cromwell, a special place where family and friends gathered.

Bette was first married to Terry Larsen, and together they welcomed two children, Aaron and Annette. She later married James (Jim) Deming and lovingly welcomed his children, Kirk and Kevan, into their family.

Those who knew Bette will remember her as a sweet, kind, loving, and caring woman with a generous and open heart. She had a beautiful smile, a contagious laugh, and a special spark that was entirely her own. She lived by her strong faith and moral compass, always leading with kindness, grace, and compassion. She had a wonderful way of reaching people through her smile and making those around her feel loved. Bette was truly one of a kind, and the love, laughter, and companionship she shared with others will remain part of her lasting legacy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Annetta; her first husband, Terry Larsen; and her brother, Royce Zaudtke.

Bette will be deeply missed by her husband, Jim Deming of Cromwell; her children, Aaron (Tammie Lanthier) Larsen of Cromwell and Annette (Chris) Meyer of Sturgeon Lake; stepchildren, Kirk Deming of Amery, WI, and Kevan (Polly) Deming of Oak Harbor, WA; grandchildren, Spencer (Camryn), Ethan, Bella (Aidan), Annika (Bryce), Mason, Evan, Drew, Tyler, Kelsey, Nic, Gabe, and Lilly; great-grandchildren, Asher, Casen, and Sawyer; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
