Beverly Longsdorf (Lersch)

Beverly Longsdorf, 86, Nickerson, died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, June 27, 2022, at home.
She was born in Red Wing, Minnesota on June 22, 1936 and lived in a variety of places in her life including: the Twin Cities Area; Portland, Oregon; Anchorage, Alaska; Weston Missouri; Bullhead City, Arizona; and Nickerson, Minnesota. During her working life she held a variety of positions starting as an organist in her home church at a very young age to the State Hospital in Moose Lake as a Registered Nurse and ending as Director of Nurses in geriatric care. In addition to her work life, she enjoyed being in and directing a choir, playing the piano, reading, playing games, and needlework, The family will always have a special love for all the mittens, hats, and afghans that she created. Beverly especially enjoyed getting out as a family; helping in classrooms making candied apples or apple butter over an open fire; skiing in Alaska and Colorado; hiking in northern Minnesota; fishing with her husband; hunting in Montana; having fun family meals and cookouts over the fire of course and always making sure everyone had enough. Throughout her life she kept her strong Lutheran Faith by always saying a prayer before supper, praying while doing dishes, and praying throughout the day.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Lawrence Longsdorf; son, Grant; grandson, Hunter Langhorst; son-in-law, David Dressen; parents, Werner & Elsie Mae (nee: Larson) Lersch; brother, Richard (Ramona) Lersch; and sister, Nancy Lersch.
Beverly will be lovingly remembered by her five children: Greggory of Nickerson; Daniel (Cheryl) of Holt, MO, Sue Longsdorf of Pueblo West, CO; Jennifer Longsdorf of Minneapolis, MN; and Sara (Jon)Langhorst of Barnum, MN.
11 Grandchildren: Cassandra (Brian)Rogers, DJ (Tara) Longsdorf, Charles (Tabatha) Shearer, Chris Shearer, Carla Shearer, Chase (Kaylie) Shearer; Phillip (Meredith) Dressen; Colt Longsdorf; Alexandra (Robert Peterson) Langhorst, Ashlynn, Langhorst, and Morgan Langhorst; 20 great grandchildren; brother Robert Lersch and her beloved dog Buster.

A Celebration of Beverly's Life will be held later for close family members.
