On the farm, Bev and Martin raised 8 children, milked cows, made hay, and maintained a large garden out of which Bev canned 100 quarts of tomatoes each year. They quit milking cows in the late 80's. While farming, Bev spent 17 years as the clerk/treasurer for Split Rock Township, worked at the Kettle River Bar, and also at the Mercy Nursing Home, a local group home, and the Moose Lake Little Store. She retired in 1991. Bev was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and most recently, Holy Angels Catholic Church. After Martin's death, Bev moved to Moose Lake in 2013. She enjoyed embroidery, reading, dancing (especially polka), and playing Thursday night bingo. She was a loving Mother who cherished time with her children and grandchildren above all else.
