Blaine G. Schatz

Blaine G. Schatz, 54, Kettle River, died accidently on Thursday, July 7, 2011. He was born on March 28, 1957 to Karl and Caroline Schatz in Bismarck, North Dakota. Blaine remained in North Dakota until 1964 when he moved to Automba Twp. with his parents. He attended Kalevala School before going to school in Barnum. Blaine attended the 8th grade at Crosier Seminary in Onamia and later returned to Barnum High School where he graduated in 1975 and also loved to play football. After high school, Blaine attended the University of Minnesota – St. Paul. He later moved to Gillette, Wyoming where he worked various jobs. Blaine returned to Minnesota and worked at Moose Lake Implement and Bill's Service in Kettle River. On January 20, 1990, Blaine married Jodi Sloan in Wright. He later became self employed and owned and operated Warm Homes in Wright. Blaine was a very hard worker and a jack of all trades. He loved his tractors and was an avid gun collector but his greatest passion in his life was his girls.

Blaine will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 21 years, Jodi; 3 daughters: Katelynne, Jessica, and Lynnsey all of Kettle River; his parents: Karl & Caroline Schatz of Kettle River; 7 siblings: Belinda Nelson of Gillette, WY; Dean (Colleen) of Gillette, WY; Don (Dawn) of Kettle River; DeAnn Schatz of Ely; Kenneth (Dawn) of Moose Lake; Kurt (Jennifer) of Kettle River; and Kevin (Bobbi) of Columbus, MT; 2 Goddaughters: Madelline Schatz and Andrea Schatz; mother-in-law and father-in-law: James & Carolyn Sloan of Wright; 2 brothers-in-law: Jon (Jan) Sloan of Crystal and Jason (Sarah) Sloan of Eagan; a sister-in-law: Jennifer Sloan of Aitkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, July 11, 2011 from 9 am until the 11:30 Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Catholic Chapel, Split Rock Twp. Father Eamonn Boland was the celebrant. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake.
