Carey L. McLevis, 74, Barnum, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, July 2, 2023.  He was born on May 31, 1949 in St. Paul, MN to Franklin and Evelyn McLevis.  He attended Barnum School.  In his younger days, he had various jobs including the cement plant in Gary New Duluth and later Potlatch where he worked from 1977 until his retirement in 2012.  He liked playing softball, deer hunting, guns, Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Vikings, and old westerns.  He also enjoyed watching the deer and birds coming to his feeders in his backyard.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; son: Randal Paul McLevis; parents: Franklin and Evelyn McLevis; and several aunts and uncles.

Carey will be deeply missed by his children: Shawn McLevis; Tricia Williams; and Christa (Darin) Henninger; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister: Fay (Steve) Lyons; niece and nephew; several cousins; close friends; and his two fur companions: Rocco and Tuffers.

Per his request, there will be no funeral service.  The family will gather at a later date to inurn his cremains in Riverside Cemetery, Barnum.
