Carl Gregory Boehmer, 71, resident of Moose Lake, died on September 21 st , 2021 in Essentia Health – Moose Lake. He was born in Saint Paul, MN on November 22, 1949 to Carl and Lorraine (Howard) Boehmer.
He graduated from North Saint Paul High School in 1968. Carl's father died unexpectedly when he was only 15, which shaped the future of Carl's life. He enlisted in the United States Navy, serving two tours in Vietnam on the U.S.S. Enterprise. Upon his return in 1972, Carl volunteered years' worth of time as a firearm safety instructor with the DNR. He enjoyed teaching safety protocols and meeting countless friends along the way. He earned the title of Firearm Safety Instructor of the Year in 2006. Carl worked for Sears as an appliance repair technician for 33 years. On September 18 th , 1998, Carl married his true love, Jeannette Prestwich, in Stillwater, MN. They moved to Moose Lake in 1999, and he worked in maintenance both with the City of Moose Lake and MSOP. Much like his father, Carl enjoyed the great outdoors: hunting, fishing, cross-country skiing, motor cycle riding, and camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lorraine; and special uncle, Robert "Bob" Boehmer.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jeannette; his daughters, Denise (Ive) Perunovic and Jennie Boehmer; Jeannette's children, Neil (Tiffany) Prestwich, Jackie (Neal) Larkin, and Jennifer Prestwich; grandchildren, Shane Richardson and Emma Sipe; siblings, Susan (David) Anderson, Gregory Boehmer, Jon (Kim) Boehmer, Todd Boehmer, and Helen (Keith) Heggernes; special aunt, Barbara Boehmer; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and good friends.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Friday, October 1 st , 2021 from 2:00 – 4:00pm in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, with Military Honors to follow in the funeral home parking lot.
