Carol Aamlie Carlson passed away on May 1, 2021 at the age of 81. Carol graduated from Nashwauk High School in 1957 and from Hibbing Junior College in 1959. She took a job as a secretary for the Engineering Department of US Steel. Carol always enjoyed the ethnic diversity of her friends and extended family on the Iron Range.

When Carol moved to Moose Lake, MN, she knew immediately this is where she wanted to raise her family. Carol enjoyed playing bridge, bowling, and having coffee with her new-found friends. It wasn't long after that Carol became involved with her community. She was a Regional Girl Scout Leader, Hockey Mom, Chair of Hope Lutheran's St. Lucia Day, and helped prepare the Annual Lutefisk Supper. She was appointed to the Moose Lake City HRA Board, elected to Mercy Hospital Board, Lake Superior Hospital Association Representative, Minnesota Hospital Association Board, and MN State Hospital Board.

With her children growing up, Carol took a job as a computer lab assistant at Moose Lake Community Schools, followed by account assistant for the Moose Lake Credit Union. Carol was best suited as a real estate agent as she liked to meet new people. Upon retirement, Carol was able to visit the birthplace of her father in Valle, Norway. There she met her uncle, aunt, and cousins for the first time.

Carol is preceded in the death by her father, Olaf Aamlie, mother, Emily, and brother, Norman.

She is survived by her Husband of 60 years, Bill Carlson; son, Gary; daughter, Gail (Dave) Wangen; granddaughters, Emily and Abbey Wangen; nephew, Craig (Jody) Aamlie and their daughter, Madeline; and niece, Karen (Kevin) Dickenson.

There will be a private family graveside service at Sunset Cemetery in Moose Lake. Plans are to have a Celebration of Life at the family cabin on Lower Balsam Lake, where Carol enjoyed spending her free time.
