Carol L. Daoust, 84, Moose Lake, died Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Moose Lake Village. She was born on June 8, 1937 to Ralph and Helen Stroschein in St. Cloud. Carol lived in Chicago at a young age and moved up to northern MN where she lived at Bluewater Resort on Bluewater Lake and attended a country school. She later attended high school in Grand Rapids graduating in 1955. On April 14, 1956, Carol married James L. Daoust in Grand Rapids. They lived in Grand Rapids until moving to Maple Valley, WA in 1959. Carol worked at a fire department dispatcher in Washington and was also a Girl Scout Leader. In 1976, they moved to Cromwell where they lived until moving to Moose Lake in 1977. Carol worked at Stearns in Carlton and later as a school aide for Moose Lake Schools retiring in 1997. She loved wintering in Texas and her traveling led her to Austria, Germany, Hawaii, Switzerland, France, NY, and Chicago. Carol was a very proud master gardener and also had an artistic side in painting. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and its St. Ann's Guild and the Red Hat Society. Carol volunteered at the library and for plant sales at the Depot.
She was preceded in death by her husband: James in 1997; daughter: Kim Granmo in 2017; parents: Ralph and Helen Stroschein; and 2 brothers: Robin and Roger Stroschein.
Carol will be lovingly remembered by her 5 children: Kevin (Heidi); Roger; Diane; Mike (Lisa); and Edward (Shelly); 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; son-in-law: Steve Granmo; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be from 10 am until the 11 am Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 21, 2022 in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake. Cremation will follow the services with spring inurnment in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake.
