Carol Jean Rentz, 80, longtime resident of Moose Lake, died peacefully on Sunday, December 5 th in Essentia Health: Miller-Dwan, Duluth. She was born in St. James, MN on April 7 th , 1941 to Helge and Irene Bohm.
Carol spent her entire childhood and young adult years in St. James, MN. After meeting Leo Rentz while working at the drive-in diner, the two married on October 3 rd , 1959. Together, the young family moved throughout the state of Minnesota for work while raising their three sons. Carol spent most of her career as a legal secretary, where she retired from Dodge-Warp, Moose Lake after many years of dedicated work. Together, Leo and Carol travelled 49 of the 50 U.S. States on motorcycle, including Hawaii. She had a passion for sight-seeing and exploring new places. Carol was a devoted member of Hope Lutheran Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She was proud of her role as a credit union board member for numerous years. Carol was good at sewing, was an avid gardener, and looked forward to any large family gathering she could cook and bake for. She was a straight-forward lady who would tell you like it is. Carol's caring ways will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, just last year; parents, Helge and Irene; and brother, Luverne Bohm.
Carol's memory will be cherished by her sons, Mike Rentz, Ken (Noell) Rentz, and Dan Rentz; grandchildren, Ashley, Karley, Hayley, and Brayden Rentz; siblings, Richard Bohm, Ruthie Cunningham, and David (Wendy) Bohm; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A visitation to honor Carol's life will be held from 10:00am until the 11:00am memorial service on Thursday, May 19th, 2022 in Hope Lutheran Church. Inurnment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Moose Lake.
