Caroline Lucille (Turnock) Alberg

Caroline Lucille (Turnock) Alberg, 94, Moose Lake, died peacefully on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Oakview Assisted Living, Moose Lake. She was born in Lawler where she grew up and was a Survivor of the 1918 Fire. Caroline attended school in Lawler and later attended Aitkin High School graduating in 1936. Caroline helped on her family's farm prior to her marriage to Roy W. Alberg on August 14, 1938 in Lawler. They farmed in Denham through the years and Caroline also worked as a cook at the Denham School and at the Sturgeon Lake School. She later received her psychiatric technician and LPN training and worked for over 20 years at the Moose Lake State Hospital retiring in 1983. Caroline was involved in 4-H Leadership, Pine County Homemakers, Denham Co-op Guild, and the Denham Village Treasurer. She loved to crochet, work on crossword puzzles, fish with her husband, Roy; and work on her flower gardens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; parents: George and Viola Turnock; 3 brothers: Harold Turnock, Lawrence Turnock, and Chester Turnock; and 2 sisters: Gertrude Turnock and Eva Alberg.

Caroline will be lovingly remembered by her four daughters: Patti (Lyle) Almquist of Moose Lake; Karen (Lee) Anderson of Denham; Noreen (Rollie) Brockman of Moose Lake; and Wendy (Frank) Suchon of Pleasanton, CA; 8 grandchildren: Cara (Todd) Keinanen of Moose Lake; Michelle (Mike) Nelson of Oxford, IA; Bradley (Heather) Anderson of Fort Collins, CO; Christopher (Aliza) Anderson of Odessa; Jonathan Anderson of Denham; Andi Hernandez and husband Tony Lee of Boston; Erin Brockman of Denver; and Nicole Anderson of Lancaster, CA; 12 great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren; 1 step great great grandchild; sister-in-law: Evelyn Turnock of Lawler; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Visitation will be from 10 am until the 11 am service on Monday, September 17, 2012 in the Evangelical Covenant Church, Moose Lake. Burial will be in Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Birch Creek Twp. Memorials are preferred to the Moose Lake Historical Society; MN Conservation Volunteer; Evangelical Covenant Church; or Hope Lutheran Church in Caroline's memory.
