Cecelia Pearl Petersen, 88, Moose Lake, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 in Parmly on the Lake Nursing Home in Chisago City where she had stayed for the past year. She was born on November 12, 1934 in Willow River to Stanley and Pearl Swarmer. Cecelia was raised in Denham and later lived in the Moose Lake area where she raised her family. She worked as a home healthcare aide through the years. Cecelia later moved to Forest Lake area to be closer to family.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Stanley and Pearl Swarmer; brother: Stanley Swarmer; sisters: Mary Witzman, Delores Wiesneski, and Rosie Swarmer.
She is survived by her three sons: Dale Petersen of Brainerd; Craig Petersen of Shafer; and Dan Petersen of Mounds View; Grandchildren: Katie Petersen of Pequot Lakes; Bret Petersen of Mpls.; Garret (Kaylie) Petersen of North Branch; and Annie Petersen of Scandia; Great Grandchild: Lauren Scwankl; two step Great Grandchildren: Emma and Addie Stace; Siblings: Helen Kliniski of Denham; Leo Swarmer of Sturgeon Lake; Johnny (Pat) Swarmer of Beroun; and Agnes Michog of Sandstone.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 10 am until the 11 am service on Friday, September 8, 2023 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake. Lunch will be held at the Covenant Social Hall following the service. Private inurnment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Willow River.
