Clemence grew up on the family farm, theirs being one of the first in the area to have electricity in 1939. Clemence loved polka dancing, and playing cards – canasta and smear, specifically. Through the years, Clemence would ice skate along the Split Rock River and had fun with the neighborhood parties they attended.
