Cliff E. Letty, 71, of Sturgeon Lake, died Thursday, January 8, 2009 at his home.  He was born June 17, 1937 in Superior, WI to Eugene Isaac and Vienna Marie (Peterson) Letty.  Cliff was a United States Army Veteran.  Cliff was united in marriage to Barbara Wilson on September 7, 1960.  Cliff was an artist, woodcarver, teacher and baker.  He enjoyed woodcarving, hunting, fishing and bird watching. He was a member of Eagles, Lions, Masons and American Legion Post #28 of Carlton.

Cliff is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; father, Eugene; 3 grandsons.

Cliff is survived by his special friend, Mary Cunningham of Sturgeon Lake; mother, Vienna of Cromwell; sons, Gene Letty of Holyoke, Tim (Sandy) Cunningham of Dalton and Todd (Wendy) Cunningham of Sturgeon Lake; daughters, Dawnette (Lukas) Dixon of Duluth, Jenifer (Paul) Hanson of Lino Lakes and Vesta (Ralph) Bidwell of Birmingham, AL; sister, Patricia Carlson of Cromwell; 17 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; nieces, Sheryl Lind and Cindy Hochstetler; nephew, Brian Carlson.
