Colleen Marie Ruhland

Colleen Marie Ruhland, 60, Moose Lake, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010. She was born in Minneapolis to Thomas and Violet Quinn. Colleen grew up in Hopkins where she graduated from high school. She later attended St. Cloud State University. After college, Colleen worked as a Dental Assistant in Hopkins. On May 20, 1972, Colleen married Darrell Ruhland in Hopkins. In 1974, they moved to Moose Lake. Colleen worked at Hope Nursery School and in 1989 began working at the Moose Lake School as a Media Specialist until retiring in 2009. Colleen was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and was also a member of the Moose Lake Golf Club. She loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and family. She also enjoyed refinishing furniture, woodworking, crafting, and biking.

She was preceded in death by her Father: Thomas Quinn;
and her Mother-In-Law and Father-In-Law: Irene and Joseph Ruhland.

Colleen will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 37 years: Darrell; two children: Craig (Maureen) Ruhland of St. Louis Park and Kelly (Brian) Bierbaum of Avon, MN; 6 Grandchildren: Kate and Joe Ruhland and Mason, Josie, Branden and Brody Bierbaum; her Mother: Violet Quinn of Hopkins; 6 Brothers: John (Mary) Quinn of Hopkins; Mike (Eleanor) Quinn of Chanhassen; Pat (Janie) Quinn of St. Louis Park; Tom "Louie" Quinn, Jr. of Minnetonka; Bob (Bonnie) Quinn of Hopkins; and Jim Quinn of Hopkins;
8 Sisters: Mary Ellen (Tom) McGannon of Plymouth; Cathy (Jim) O'Neill of Minnetonka; Verna (Steve) McCabe of Minnetonka; Susan (Jerry) Techam of Hopkins; Barb (Tom) Rosc of Hibbing; Theresa (Will) Hart of Bloomington; Deb (Dave) Murphy of Cottage Grove; and Sharon (Marty) Farrell of Minnetonka; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Memorial Visitation was held on Friday, May 14, 2010 from 5-8 PM in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake with a Prayer Service at 8:00 PM. The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 2:00 PM in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake. Private Family Inurnment will take place at a later date.
