Darlene M. Dehnel
Darlene Marie Dehnel, 71, Willow River, formerly of Minneapolis, died Thursday, October 29, 2009 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake. She was born on September 1, 1938 in Minneapolis to Roland and Shirley Seguin. She attended Anoka High School and later worked at Pearson's Candy Company. On July 15, 1961, Darlene married Roger Dehnel. After raising her three children, Darlene began working as a nursing assistant. She later went to work for the Star Tribune in the Human Resource Department where she worked until retiring in 1991. She and Roger moved to Willow River after her retirement.
Darlene's interests were family, friends, flowers and reading. During her last illness, Darlene's family discovered her love for candy.
Darlene was preceded in death by her father and step-mother: Roland and Lola and her mother and step-father: Shirley and John.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Roger; two sons: Robert of Crystal and Dean of Duluth; her daughter: Suzen of Willow River; two brothers: Gary of Nisswa and Terry of Cedar; two sisters: Cindy of Brooklyn Park and Lauri of Andover; seven grandchildren: Lisa, Karen, Roger, Joseph, Stephanie, Kayla, and Jaelene; two great grandchildren: Mikaela and Jordan; and six nieces and nephews.
