Obituary

David A. Matuseski, 84, of Moose Lake, died Saturday, September 5, 2009 in Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. He was born January 17, 1925 in Moose Lake to Albert and Pauline (Obraske) Matuseski. David was a WWII Veteran, serving in the Army. David was united in marriage to Helen Petersen on November 25, 1952 in Moose Lake. David worked at the Penal Camp where the Moose Lake State Park is now located for 14 years. He also owned and operated Matuseski Construction as well as Wash, Sand & Gravel of Moose Lake. David also cut and sold ice. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the North Shore and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

David is preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, Joe, Pete, Eddy, Teddy and Donald; 2 sisters, Sister Sophia and Lucy Carlson.

David is survived by his loving wife, Helen Matuseski of Moose Lake; 9 children, Tracy (Lisa) Matuseski of Moose Lake, Robert Matuseski of Moose Lake, Debra (Walter) White of St. Paul, Toni Forsberg of Moose Lake, Jay Matuseski of Moose Lake, Lisa (Kevin) Conway of Forest Lake, Kelly Matuseski of St. Paul, Karla (Tony) Hofford of Sturgeon Lake and Holly (Josh) Gamst of Moose Lake; grandchildren, Anthony (Sara) Pluff, Kile Smith, Tarah and Sheryl Posthumus, Nissa and Jenna Matuseski, Jacob Matuseski, Austin, Kelsey and Brandon Matuseski, Jamie Hofford, Zachary Conway, Gabrielle, Gracie and Gavin Gamst; 1 great granddaughter, Prisilla Pluff; 1 brother, Larry (Shirley) Matuseski of Moose Lake; 3 sisters, Celia Johnson of CA, Margaret Heiser and Agnes Kusak of Alexandria.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake.
