Dawn Renee Waddick, 52, lifelong resident of McGregor, unexpectedly died on Sunday, March 15 ^th , 2020 in Abbott Northwestern Hospital of Minneapolis. She was born on March 13 ^th , 1968 in Minneapolis to Dennis and Loretta (Sanda) Olson.

Dawn graduated from McGregor High School in 1986. Shortly after, she attended UMD where she studied education. For many years, Dawn was a special education paraprofessional; she always had a desire to work with young children. She also worked as a florist in McGregor for most of her life. Dawn's creative mind gave her a natural talent when it came to flowers and crafting. She loved attending craft fairs and baking. Dawn appreciated the great outdoors and enjoyed fishing any time that she could. She always acknowledged every person for who they were and she never forgot any special occasion, sending cards and gifts to everybody she loved. Dawn was proud of her Finnish heritage – SISU: stoic determination, tenacity of purpose, grit, bravery, resilience, and hardiness: and she was exactly that. Dawn was the most kind, loving, and selfless person. She was humble, loved the simple things in life, and prioritized her family above all else.

Dawn was preceded in death by her beloved son, Brady; mother, Loretta; brother, Jonathan; and numerous other relatives.

She will forever be missed by her husband, Brian; father, Dennis Olson; sister, Nona Hicks; Goddaughter, Christi Tsachuk; special aunt, Shirley Maki; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A private graveside celebration of life will be held in Rice River Cemetery, McGregor.
