Obituary

Delores ("Del") M. Janke, 73, Saginaw, died peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2025 in Moose Lake after courageously battling cancer.  She was born on March 28, 1952 in Duluth to Rudolph and Neryne Granholm.  She grew up in Saginaw and attended Albrook High School graduating in 1970 as a Salutatorian.  On October 30, 1971, Del married Ellwyn ("El") Janke in Brookston.  Shortly thereafter, Del and El lovingly established a family, having two boys, Dustin and Troy.  In 1983, Del attended the College of St. Scholastica, receiving a BA in nursing, from there launching a 29-year career at Cloquet Memorial Hospital as a nurse, with the majority of her career dedicated to her love of OB nursing, "delivering babies," as Del would say.  Del and her family continued living in Saginaw throughout those years until her retirement in 2012.

She will be remembered for her caring ways, always willing to help others, her wonderful wit and large personality with a smile that lit up any room. Del will be especially remembered for the unwavering and inseparable love she shared with her children and grandchildren that radiated brightly, with unmistakable grace.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellwyn "El" Janke; and her sister and brother-in-law: Darla and LeRoy Peterson.

Delores will be forever and lovingly remembered by her two sons: Dustin Janke and Troy (Lainie) Janke; five grandchildren: Rex, Kennedy, Izabella, Gavin, Ellexis (Dyllan); great grandson: Elliott; partner for 14 years: Lonnie Huard; sister: Judy (Henry) Prouty; and several important family members.

Delores chose to have a Celebration of Life while she was living and had a beautiful gathering at the Munger Town Hall on November 8, 2025. She was able to say goodbye to many family and friends.

Inurnment will be in Industrial Cemetery, Culver, MN.
