Diane Marie (Klejeski) Riihiluoma, 67, Barnum, died peacefully on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Essentia St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth. Diane battled cancer courageously over the last three decades. She was born on March 24, 1954 in Moose Lake to Carl and Josephine (Mikrot) Klejeski. Diane grew up in Split Rock Twp. and attended Moose Lake High School graduating in 1972. She started working for Carlton County Cooperative in Kettle River in 1971, where she worked for 16 years. On October 12, 1974, Diane married Dale Riihiluoma at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Split Rock Twp. They lived in Kettle River, Waseca, Waconia and Montgomery before moving back to Barnum in 2005. Diane worked at Waseca Secretarial Service and Key Appraisal in Waseca, MN; Dianne's Gourmet Desserts in Le Center, MN; and most recently Joan E's Accounting in Moose Lake and as Deputy Clerk for the City Of Kettle River. She was a member of the Star Club where she served as Treasurer, Barnum Community Club, also serving as Treasurer and St. Isidore's CCW. She enjoyed doing crafts, loved to paint, organize family contacts and history, bake and was well known for making her jello salad. Diane taught her family that you can do anything you put your mind to and courageously led by that example throughout her life. She will truly be remembered for her endless strength, caring and compassionate heart, resilient faith and the love she had for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Carl and Josephine Klejeski; two brothers: David Klejeski and Thomas "Tom" Klejeski; and a nephew: Zachary Klejeski.
Diane will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 47 years, Dale; two daughters: Angela (Jared) Remerowski, Lindstrom, MN and Rebekah Riihiluoma, Chatfield, MN; five siblings: Richard (Renee) Klejeski, Kettle River, MN; Pat (Phil) Tiderman, Moose Lake, MN; Kevin (Marcy) Klejeski, Bemidji, MN; Brenda (Steve) Harteau, Saginaw, MN; Renee (Russ) Peterson, Moose Lake, MN; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Joanne and Jerry Bohren, Big Lake, MN; sisters-in-law: Nancy Klejeski, Willow River and Judi Klejeski, Coon Rapids; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Many thanks to family and friends for rides to Duluth, food and helping hands during the last several months.
Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Thursday, December 2, 2021 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake and continue from 10 am until the 11 am Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 3, 2021 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Split Rock Twp. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Split Rock Twp.
