Donald L. Bean, 90, of Sturgeon Lake, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016 at his home.  He was born January 31, 1926 in Duluth to Leonard and Lottie (Young) Bean.  Donald was united in marriage to Lorna Rude on July 9, 1947 in Mahtowa.  Don and Lorna enjoyed hunting and fishing together and especially enjoyed time with family.  Don owned and operated Don Bean Mobile Homes, Don Bean Furniture and Don Bean Motors.  He was also a member of Moose Lake United Methodist Church, Shriners International and Moose Lodge #479 of Moose Lake.

Don is preceded in death by his wife, Lorna; his parents; 2 brothers, David and Thomas.

Don is survived by 1 son, David Bean of St. Paul; 1 daughter, Joan (Warren) Shellhorn of Hilo, HI; grandchildren, Jenny Maki, Julie and Carrie Shellhorn; great grandchildren, Jayden, Violet, Leila and Shane; several nieces and nephews.
