Donald "Don" C. Selenski, 89, of Sturgeon Lake, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, June 1, 2017, in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake. He was born January 8, 1928 in Sturgeon Lake to Joseph and Anna (Mankowski) Selenski. Don was a veteran of The United States Army who served during the Korean War. Don was united in marriage to Eleanor Anderson on September 15, 1956 in St. James Catholic Church, West Duluth. Don was a rural mail carrier for Sturgeon Lake/Denham for 47 years. He was also a mechanic his entire life. Don enjoyed looking for and ordering parts from the internet. He loved life on the lake and especially loved time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Don is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor; son, Alan; his parents; 1 brother, Leonard; 1 sister, Lorraine Dunaski.
Don is survived by 2 daughters, Janet (Greg) Bennett of Sturgeon Lake and Carol (Mike) Anderson of Sturgeon Lake; grandchildren, Chris (Rachel) Bennett, Kylie (Matthew) Prachar, Mike Bennett and Elea Anderson; great grandchildren, Emmaline, Eleanor, Anna, Alan, Joseph and Avery; nieces and nephews, Mark, RaeAnn, Lindy, Kathy and Julie; many precious family members and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 10, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Isidore's Catholic Church, Sturgeon Lake. Burial will be in St. Isidore's Catholic Cemetery, Sturgeon Lake.
