Donald D. Denton, 91, of Barnum, died Tuesday, August 16, 2011 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake. He was born on July 19, 1920 in Barnum to Glenn and Zella (Fetters) Denton. Donald was an Army veteran of WWII. Donald was united in marriage to Ruth Stewart on December 8, 1946 in Flint, MI. Donald worked for Ken Brown Feed Stores, Potlatch, Moose Lake Co-op and was also a farmer. He loved draft horses and participated in the Carlton County Fair and other draft horse events.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth; brothers, Rollie, Gordon and Kenneth; sister, Marjorie Hughes.
Donald is survived by 2 sons, Daniel (Betty) Denton of Mahtowa and Randy (Lori) Denton of Barnum; 1 daughter, Peggy Denton of LaCrosse, WI; grandchildren, Reggie Denton, Jeffrey Denton, Kimberly Schadewald, Sarah Wilson, Benjamin Denton, James Ryan Johonnott; 12 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Marilyn (Roland) Urback of Sumner, WA; many nieces and nephews.
