Donald Reynold Leino, 86, Moose Lake, died Saturday, October 29, 2022.  He was born as a twin with his sister, Donna Lampel,  in Moose Lake to Emil and Manda (Haikola) Leino on April 17, 1936.  He graduated from Moose Lake High School in 1954.  Donald served Honorably in the United States Army for a few years and had been stationed in Germany.  He also made a trip to Finland to visit relatives while he was in the Army.  Donald worked for the Pentagon in Washington DC following the service and later worked for Moose Lake Post Office for 29 years retiring in 1992.  He enjoyed hunting for treasures at auction sales, picking apples, and growing pumpkins.  Donald was a very generous man and would often delight people with apples, pumpkins, apple pies and other items that he would leave at their doorstep.  Donald will be remembered for his great sense of humor.  He attended Barnum Community United Methodist Church regularly and enjoyed visiting with his church family.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Emil and Manda Leino; twin sister and brother-in-law: Donna and Ray Lampel; brother-in-law: Ernest Peters; infant brother: Robert; nephews: Darrell Peters and Jon Lampel; and niece: Brenda Weske.

Donald is survived by his sister: Genevieve Peters; nieces and nephews: Sherry Leoni, Kim Creager, Shelly Case, Mike Peters, Becky Holt, and Tim Lampel; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 10 am until the 11 am Memorial Service on Monday, November 14, 2022 in Barnum Community United Methodist Church.  Private inurnment will be in St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery.
