Obituary

Donald "Don" P. Luger, 86, of Willow River, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, March 7, 2010 in Golden Living Center, Rush City. He was born January 3, 1924 in St. Paul to Leo and Angela (Peschke) Luger. Don lived most of his life in North St. Paul and was united in marriage to Constantina "Dena" Coulouris on November 22, 1958 in St. Paul. Don was a Coast Guard Veteran of WWII, serving in Japan aboard LST 886 and stayed active in the MN Chapter LST Association. Don was a partner in Luger Lumber before retiring to Willow River in 1987. Don was also an active member with Sturgeon Lake Area Lions, North St. Paul American Legion Post #39, North St. Paul VFW Post #1350, Moose Lodge #479 of Moose Lake, AARP and the NRA.

Don is preceded in death by his wife, Dena; his parents; 2 sisters, Ardeth Simmons and Lorraine Rongitsch.

A gathering of family and friends was held on Tuesday, March 16, from 10 AM until 11 AM in St. Mary's Hall, Willow River. A Mass of Christian Burial followed at 11 AM in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Willow River. Inurnment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
