Donald E. Oquist

Donald E. Oquist, 87, Moose Lake, died Sunday, January 14, 2018 in Augustana Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake.  He was born in Grasston, MN and grew up in Braham.  Don was a Veteran of the United States Army.  On January 6, 1949, Don married Grace Coy in Hibbing where they lived while Don worked for Hanna Mining Company.  They later purchased a hobby farm in Twin Lakes Twp.  Don was a member of the Knights of Columbus, served on the board for St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marble, and was also a Boy Scout Leader.  He loved to fish, hunt, and truly loved being with his family.  He was hardworking, kind, and well respected.

Don was preceded in death by his wife, Grace in May 2017; 6 brothers: Anord, Edwin, Andy, Pete, Nels, and George; 3 sisters: Elsie, Florence, and Myrtle; and 2 infant siblings.

He will be lovingly remembered by his 5 children: Adrian Oquist of Deer River; Jane Oquist of Deer River; Kevin (Barb) Oquist of Alamogordo, New Mexico; Camille Cagle of Moose Lake; and Eric (Nancy) Oquist of Moose Lake; 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and numerous cousins.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 9 am until the 10 am Memorial Service on Saturday, January 20, 2018 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.  Pastor Nate Anderson will officiate.  To sign the guestbook online, go to www.hhkfuneralhome.com .
